DEPOT AT HYDE PARK

The building was designed to evoke a train depot. The new units will rise on Crenshaw Boulevard, along the new 3-billion-dollar MTA line, which runs from Exposition Station At Crenshaw on the north terminus to the LAX terminal and the South Bay. The design of the building includes a pleated facade to convey movement and interest at the street. There is a double high entry foyer. The building also features a small ground floor “jewel box,” which offsets the building from the street and provides contrast to the modern design above. The common area of the building is encased in glass and sits above the ground floor entry space. Working with the community, and designed with the Crenshaw Specific Plan in mind, the 43 units will be home to both permanent supportive units for singles and select families. A large central courtyard with planters, seating areas and a BBQ will enhance the lives of the tenants and their families.
