Aloe Palm Canyon Grand Opening

On October 16, 2025, United Building Company proudly joined partners and community leaders to celebrate the grand opening of Aloe Palm Canyon Apartments in Palm Springs — a vibrant 71-unit affordable housing community designed for seniors aged 55 and over. Thoughtfully envisioned by Wil Carson of 64North, Aloe Palm Canyon blends modern design with desert-inspired architecture to create a safe, sustainable, and welcoming environment for older adults.

The event featured remarks from Mayor Ron deHarte (City of Palm Springs), Mike Walsh (Riverside County Housing & Workforce), Kenny Rodgers (Low Income Investment Fund), Ian Gabriel (We Lift – Lift to Rise + LIIF), Debbie Koski (First Citizens Bank), Anson Snyder (JLL Capital Markets), Tod Lipka (Step Up), Eve E. Fromberg Edelstein (DAP Health), and Marcus Cannon (Riverside University Health System), with closing remarks by Jesse Slansky, President & CEO of West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (WHCHC).

Celebrating the Grand Opening of Huntington Square

On October 1, 2025, United Building Company joined A Community of Friends (ACOF), local officials, and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of Huntington Square, a new 48-unit permanent supportive housing community in Huntington Park serving low-income seniors and formerly homeless senior veterans. Designed by FSY Architects, the development blends contemporary design, sustainable features, and trauma-informed spaces to promote stability, safety, and dignity for older adults.

The event included remarks from Mayor Arturo Flores, LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn, Roberto C. Herrera, Jr. (California Department of Veterans Affairs), Councilmembers Karina Macias, Jonathan Sanabria, Nancy Martiz, Vice Mayor Eduardo Martinez, and representatives from the LA County Department of Mental Health and Merritt Community Capital, with opening remarks by Dora Leong Gallo, President & CEO of ACOF.

Ribbon Cutting Marks Official Opening of The Emerald Residential Community

Lancaster, CA – June 6, 2025 – LA Family Housing and development partners celebrated the grand opening of The Emerald, a 72-unit residential community in Lancaster, with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by lunch and guided unit tours. Local officials, partners, and community members explored the modern amenities and high-end finishes that define The Emerald. The event underscored the development’s commitment to raising the standard of housing in the Antelope Valley and supporting the area’s continued growth.

Glendale Landmark Becomes Senior Housing: Harrower Village Ribbon Cutting

GLENDALE, CA - On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Abode Communities hosted a celebratory Ribbon Cutting for Harrower Village, marking the transformation of the historic Harrower Laboratory & Clinic into 40 affordable rental homes for seniors in the heart of Glendale. Now officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the site honors its legacy while addressing the region’s critical need for senior housing. The development team includes Omgivning, KFA Architecture, AMJ Construction Management, United Building Company, SALT Landscape Architects, and Architectural Resources Group—each playing a key role in bringing this thoughtful adaptive reuse project to life.
