UBC Team Appreciation Luncheon - April 2022

With the curtailment of Covid restrictions throughout Los Angeles, UBC sponsored another one of our UBC Team Appreciation luncheons at our Berendo building in Koreatown.

Here, at these events, we say THANK YOU to our subcontractors, our field team and all the hardworking professionals that, each and very day, work to expand the City’s supply of affordable housing for families, seniors, Veterans of the U.S. Military, those experiencing homelessness, as well as to each community in which we build!

UBC Groundbreaking Announcement - Q1 2022

United Building Company is please to announce the start of three new jobs in the first quarter of 2022, including two where the clients held Groundbreaking ceremonies: My Angel and MLK/ PCH.

Two supportive housing developments rise on neighboring sites in Hyde Park

A short walk south at 6527-6549 S. Crenshaw Boulevard, wood framing is now complete for the Depot at Hyde Park, a similar project from co-developers GTM Holdings and WORKS.

​The five-story development, which replaced a 10-unit apartment, will create a total of 43 residential units above 1,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 22-car parking garage. Plans also call for on-site supportive services and open space for residents.

$58.5m in bonds approved for affordable housing in Boyle Heights and Winnetka

As part of its consent calendar, the Los Angeles City Council has approved the issuance of more than $58 million in bond financing for the construction of two affordable and permanent supportive housing developments.The first, called Palm Vista, is being developed through a partnership between Hollywood Community Housing Corporation and GTM Holdings. Plans call for razing a collection of automobile-related businesses at 20116-20128 Sherman Way in Winnetka to make way for a new four-story edifice featuring 44 supportive housing units, 45 low-income housing units, and two manager's apartments.

42-Unit Supportive Affordable Complex Breaks Ground in Pico-Union

In the Pico-Union neighborhood, United Building Company was selected to build Berendo Sage, the latest in a series of new affordable housing complex from West Hollywood Community Housing Corp.The building, located on a City-owned property at 1035 S. Berendo Street, will consist of a six-story building featuring 42 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in addition, split between formerly homeless individuals and general lower-income households.
