UBC is now hiring a hardworking Superintendent with experience in multi-family construction preferably affordable housing to work in Southern California. You will be responsible for the daily and ongoing onsite management of your building with the primary responsibility for maintaining the schedule, submittals, RFI’s and COR’s. You also will responsible to maintain a safe and accident-free job site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Superintendent position include:


  • Managing and coordinating all onsite activities.

  • Documenting scope of work for subcontractors.

  • Assisting in reviewing and approving subcontractor and vendor payments.

  • Coordinating and maintaining an effective project schedule.

  • Directing and evaluating site personnel and staff.

  • Enforcing project safety and security at all times.

  • Monitoring Quality Control at all times.

  • Insuring Labor compliance with all rules.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with others in a professional and objective manner, in both oral and written form.

  • Must possess problem solving abilities.

  • Must possess knowledge of local and state regulations and building codes.

  • Must be able to effectively respond to management and employees and provide  accurate and appropriate feedback in a timely manner.

  • Must be proactive and assertive with effective decision-making skills and abilities.

  • Must be highly organized and able to successfully multi-task utilizing effective time management skills.

  • Must be dependable and able to effectively lead and manage departmental staff.

  • Must have a strong sense of urgency to respond to inquiries timely and professionally.

  • Must possess effective and active listening abilities.

  • Must be able to work long hours with flexible work schedules including Saturdays.

  • Must have high attention to detail along with a high level of accuracy.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Project software along with working knowledge of Procore.

  • Must be able to behave professionally at all times while exercising very high levels of confidentiality and discretion.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years Superintendent construction on projects valued up to $50M. 

  • Minimum 8 years multi-family commercial and public work experience.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • OSHA 30-hour. (Preferred) 

  • CPR/First Aid. (Preferred)

LICENSE:

  • Current and unencumbered CA DL with satisfactory driving record.
